Amid a growing shortage of skilled operators and engineers in Bangladesh’s industrial sector, a new initiative aims to train 8,500 professionals for the shipbuilding industry over the next two years. At a Chattogram meeting, stakeholders including Prantik Group Chairman Md Golam Sarwar emphasized the urgent need for workforce development to meet domestic and global demand in maritime and industrial services.

Chattogram, Bangladesh – Prantik Group inaugurated its new shipyard, slipway, and jetty at Karnaphuli on 18 April 2025, marking a major milestone in the company’s growth. The facility handles vessels of all sizes, with an 80-meter slipway, caisson gate dry-docking, bollard pull testing up to 120 tons, and dedicated berthing for tugs.
