Amid a growing shortage of skilled operators and engineers in Bangladesh’s industrial sector, a new initiative aims to train 8,500 professionals for the shipbuilding industry over the next two years. At a Chattogram meeting, stakeholders including Prantik Group Chairman Md Golam Sarwar emphasized the urgent need for workforce development to meet domestic and global demand in maritime and industrial services.

Chattogram, Bangladesh – Prantik Group inaugurated its new shipyard, slipway, and jetty at Karnaphuli on 18 April 2025, marking a major milestone in the company’s growth. The facility handles vessels of all sizes, with an 80-meter slipway, caisson gate dry-docking, bollard pull testing up to 120 tons, and dedicated berthing for tugs. “This launch showcases our commitment to innovation, service excellence, and advancing Bangladesh’s maritime industry,” said Md Golam Sarwar, Managing Director.
